Sh Ch Windydale Whimsicle Ways of Calvdale

Sex: Bitch
Born: 1978
Colour: Liver White & Tan

Our first purchase was a bitch called Windydale Whimsicle Ways. She was already two years old and virtually unshown. She was bred in Co. Durham by Susan Shaw and was out of a Healsville bitch called Healsville Warath Blossom and sired by Ch Hawkhill High-Line who was bred by Judith Hancock and owned by Mick Friel.

Whimsicle Ways (Sally) was mated to Ellen Dobson's Sh Ch Teesview Top-Notch and at 3 weeks in whelp she was shown at the NESSS Championship Show under Joe Robinson. She was placed first in the limit bitch class and was later awarded the RCC. Not bad for a first attempt in the breed. Some few months later, Sally along with kennel mate Black Ebony of Burmon at Calvdale attended Crufts where June Froggatt of the famous Moorcliff Kennel was to judge. June awarded Ebony a second in Post Graduate and to our absolute delight, she awarded first to Sally who then went on to take the CC - her first.

The following year passed in a blur. Sally was made up by Olga Hampton at Border Union and we returned to Crufts to be judged by Margaret Backhouse (Majeba) on Friday 13th. Sally was awarded her 13th CC and BOB and she was also shortlisted in the group

The rest, as they say, is history - She went on to win 21 CC's most of them with BOB. They broke the mould when Whimisicle Ways was created and we are only proud to have been allowed to have shared in her life. She taught us so much.
